At The Rent and Ride, we aim to provide reliable and transparent bike & scooty rental services in Haldwani and Kathgodam.
This Return & Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may or may not be issued.
🚫 1. No Return After Vehicle Pickup
Once the bike/scooty has been picked up by the customer and the rental period has started:
- No return or refund will be provided for the unused rental duration.
- Rental charges are applicable for the entire booked duration, even if the customer returns the vehicle earlier.
💰 2. Refund Before Pickup (Cancellation Policy)
Refund eligibility depends on when the cancellation is made:
✔ 100% Refund
If cancellation is made 24 hours before the pickup time.
✔ 50% Refund
If cancellation is made within 12–24 hours before pickup.
❌ No Refund
If cancellation is made within 12 hours of pickup time.
🔧 3. Refund Due to Vehicle Issues
If a vehicle has a major mechanical fault before the ride starts:
- Customer will get a full refund, OR
- A replacement vehicle will be provided (subject to availability).
If an issue arises during the ride, the following applies:
- A replacement may be provided if possible.
- Refunds are not guaranteed for issues that occur due to customer misuse, accident, or negligence.
🧾 4. Security Deposit Refund
Your security deposit will be refunded when:
- The bike/scooty is returned in the same condition as given.
- There is no damage to vehicle body, engine, electricals, or accessories.
- All documents and keys are returned.
Deductions may apply for:
- Physical damage
- Lost helmet or accessories
- Late return charges
- Insurance or towing charges (if applicable)
Security deposits are typically refunded within 24–48 hours after inspection.
🕒 5. Late Return Policy (Affects Refund Eligibility)
If the vehicle is returned later than the allowed time:
- Late charges will apply on an hourly or full-day basis (as per rental rules).
- These charges may be deducted from the security deposit.
🚫 6. No Refunds For
- Wrong booking by customer
- Change of travel plan
- Bad weather conditions
- Traffic or road-block issues
- Customer not carrying proper documents
- Customer unfit or unable to ride at the time of pickup
- Customer rejecting the vehicle without valid technical reasons
🔄 7. Mode of Refund
Refunds (if applicable) will be issued via:
- UPI
- Bank Transfer
- Original payment method
Refunds are processed within 3–7 working days.
